Two-Month Checkup

Today I went to see the doctor for my two-month checkup. I waited for just a few minutes...

...but that was enough for me to start getting restless.

The nurse told Daddy to undress me for the exam. It was chilly!

The doctor who saw me wasn't my regular doctor. She asked Daddy to help weigh and measure me. I now measure 23 1/2 in., which is 85 percentile and weigh 11 pounds 14 oz., which is 50 percentile. My head circumference is >40 cm, which is 90 percentile. My weight gain in 30 days has only been 1 pound 10 oz., which is less than an ounce a day which is what babies my age to generally gain weight at. I was between 50 and 75 percentile in weight at my 1-month checkup but now I'm just 50 percentile.

Mommy is definitely F-R-E-A-K-I-N-G out. She said that not only am I not making up ground relative to other kids, I'm losing ground. I think her expectations are probably a little skewed since big sister Jordan was an Amazon at 95 percentile in weight and 99+ percentile in height. Jordan was 13 pounds 4 oz. when she was 2 months old, but I'm only 11 pounds 14 oz.

The doctor told Mommy not to feed me so often. They almost got into an argument about how eating less often is better for gaining weight. It's like I've been at an all-day buffet all the time. For Mommy and most normal people, they'd gain weight like crazy. But for Daddy, maybe he'd actually lose weight because he'd be snacking all the time and get fewer calories overall. Yeah, that doesn't make sense to Mommy, either. If it indeed is possible, and I take after Daddy, maybe I could gain more weight by eating bigger meals less frequently.

Mommy thinks I have chicken legs, especially as compared to my big sister Jordan who literally had rolls of fat on her legs when she was two months old.

After the doctor left, the nurse came in to give me my vaccines. I didn't like the shots but I calmed down faster than big sister Jordan did. When I got home, though, I was extra grouchy and fussed all evening.

I Wake to Sleep

...and take my waking slow. Ok, not really.
I wake up quickly and it takes me a while to fall asleep.

Mobile Mesmerization

Mommy put up the mobile in my crib today. It can keep me entertained for about 10 minutes.

Size 2 Diapers

I graduated to Size 2 diapers today. Hopefully they fit me, because I don't have any Size 1 diapers left and there will be 3 boxes of Size 2 diapers in the next week!

Zoo Outing

I slept through the entire outing at the zoo! I didn't see a single animal.

Little Padawan

Mommy says I'd be a more convincing Jedi in training if I wouldn't get upset about getting into my onesie and  fight it.

Hanging Out

Mommy took a few pictures of me yesterday just hanging out. Here I'm lying on my diaper changing pad.

Mommy makes me do tummy time on a pink mat that my big sister used. It's embarrassing!
I like to grouse, especially when I am tired. Mommy doesn't understand why I can't just go to sleep like a normal person. It's because I'm a small baby: I need help falling asleep.
I finally fall asleep in my Pack n' Play, to the tremendous relief of Mommy.

Falling Asleep

Falling asleep wrapped up in a nice warm blanket in arms that hold me close is nice.

Grumpy Sleeper

I'm grumpy when I'm sleepy...
...and then I won't sleep unless I'm on my tummy.
I had a nice nap on my tummy.

Little Bum

Why is it that Mommy isn't paying attention to me every single second of the day?
I'm a cute baby and I deserve being the only focus of attention...
...haha, that was a good joke. I'm bald and I have a really bad case of baby acne, so "cute" is hardly the word for me. My joke made me laugh.

One-Month Doctor Checkup

On Wednesday I went for my 1-month checkup. I'm now 10 lbs. 4 oz. and 22 1/2 inches tall, which is 50 to 75 percentile for weight and 95 percentile for height. My head circumference is 15 1/8 in., which is 90 percentile in size. For comparison, my big sister Jordan measured in at 11 lbs. 14 oz. in weight, 24 1/2 inches tall, and with a head circumference of 15 1/4 inches. When she looked at these numbers, Mommy promptly fed me again and asked me, "So, how do you intend to make up this gap?" That's my Tiger Mommy for you. Then she looked at the date of Jordan's pediatrician's visit for the "1-month" checkup and realized it was 1 month plus 10 days, whereas my 1-month checkup was one day shy of 1 month from the date of my birth. Still, she doesn't think I am going to be able to make up the height difference in 10 days. Humph.

I did not like it when the doctor checked my eyes, ears and mouth. I especially didn't like it when the nurse later gave me a shot.

Boppy Sleeping

Mommy let me sleep on the Boppy on her lap this afternoon because I am a light sleeper and would probably wake up if she transferred me to the bassinet.

Grumpy

If I were a dwarf in the Snow White tale, I'd be Grumpy. I definitely would not be Sleepy.
I was grumpy the entire morning and afternoon.
I was grumpy for so long that I eventually passed out from my grumpiness.

Halloween Outing

I was fast asleep in the stroller yesterday when Jordan went to go trick-or-treating.

My Big Sister and I

I hung out with my big sister Jordan yesterday. She snuggled with me.
She is a lot bigger than me right now. I'm going to learn so much from her.
Jordan held my arm gently.
